Able to Serve was founded in 2003 as a 501(c)(3) organization to provide people with disabilities opportunities to actively participate in the community. We began with a donated, used wheelchair accessible van that could transport one person to church, social events, family gatherings, or doctor’s appointments. In 2009, we expanded our services to include continuing education, life skills training, creative arts, social events, and hands-on community service projects.
Today, Able to Serve serves both Wake and Johnston County residents, has two wheelchair accessible vans with a capacity to transport 27 individuals.
In 2013, Able to Serve was honored to receive the Small Business of the Year Award from the Greater Cleveland Chamber.
In 2016, we were again extremely honored to be presented with the Garner Chamber of Commerce’s Summit Award (Nonprofit Achievement Award).
