5th Annual Benefit is March 4th

On March 4th, Able to Serve will host our 5th annual Benefit. Over 200 friends and business leaders will enjoy a catered dinner and celebrate how we are helping adults who have developmental disabilities make a difference in our community. This year’s Benefit will be emceed by ABC 11’s Heather Waliga and will include a Silent Auction. Proceeds from this event help purchase technology, provide wheelchair-accessible transportation, and keep the cost of our high-quality program affordable for families. You’re Invited to Our Valentine’s Dance

You’re invited to our annual Valentine’s Dance on Friday, February 5, from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Holland’s United Methodist Church, 9433 Ten-Ten Road, Raleigh, NC 27603. Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served. All older teens and adults who have developmental disabilities and live in Wake or Johnston County are welcome to attend. We’re Moving!

After 11 years on Technology Drive, Able to Serve is moving to a new location. If you’ve visited any time this year, it’s been obvious we’re a little crowded every day. So, on October 1, we will move from 1,400 square feet to 4,000! Our new location will be at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 2100 Buffaloe Road, Garner. We’ll be spiffing up the place throughout September, but we look forward to having you drop by for a visit after the first week of October.

Now Accepting Vendor Applications for Santa Shop

Able to Serve’s annual Santa Shop will be Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. til 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Garner, NC. We are accepting vendor applications now through October 1, 2015. Click below to download a copy of the application. 2015 Vendor Contract Vendor fees are $40 for each space.

2015 Benefit a Success!

Thank you! Our 2015 Benefit was a huge success. Over 250 people from our community enjoyed great food prepared by Abel Grande and great entertainment by Johnnie Davis, The Antique Outlaws, and Brooks Bristow. They also were challenged to aim higher in their financial support of Able to Serve as we aim higher in providing a program that supports our participants’ desires to get more out of life. Spring Fundraisers

Able to Serve’s two largest fundraising events are coming up soon. The Benefit (formerly known as the Gala) is Friday, April 17 from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Garner. Individual tickets are on sale now for $25 each, and sponsorships are still available. The goal for this year’s Benefit is $50,000. Click here for more details or here for a printable download. End of Year Campaign a Success

We are excited to announce that we reached our 2014 end of year goal to raise  $12,000 to create a new scholarship fund! Thank you for supporting our current families in need of financial assistance. We’ll continue to grow the scholarship fund to insure families in the future who “need Somebody” will receive the financial assistance they need. Help us continue giving financial help to families by designating all or portions of your financial contribution to “The Scholarship Fund”.
